TxDOT and NMDOT hosting public meetings for Farwell/Texico proposed bridge project

LUBBOCK DISTRICT - The Texas and New Mexico Departments of Transportation invite Farwell and Texico residents to attend an open-house style public meeting to see updated information on a proposed project to build a bridge at US 60/70/84, in the cities of Farwell, TX and Texico, NM.

The open-house will be held in Texico, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 9, at the Texico ISD cafeteria, located at 520 N. Griffin Street, Texico, NM. The public is encouraged to attend, ask questions and provide feedback.

TxDOT staff will be present to provide information, answer questions and take comments on plans for a proposed project to build a bridge structure over the existing BNSF railroad crossing at the Texas/New Mexico state line. The proposed project is expected to improve mobility and access to US 60/70/84 at the railroad crossings located between the two cities.

Public comments can be submitted until Friday, May 24, 2024, by email at [email protected], or by mail to the Lubbock District, Attn: ENV Office/Farwell Bridge Project, at 135 Slaton Road Lubbock, TX, 79404.
