Dr. Ruiz Statement on President Biden’s 2023 State of the Union Address

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-25) issued the following statement in reaction to tonight's State of the Union address:

"President Biden delivered a message of hope, optimism, and continued economic growth for our nation. In the last two years, we have worked together to deliver results for California, including lower health care costs for families, relief for veterans exposed to burn pits, reduced prescription drug and insulin costs for seniors, and good-paying jobs for local workers.

"We heard good news from President Biden tonight as he reaffirmed his commitment to building a clean energy economy with union jobs and American-made materials. With the lithium potential at the Salton Sea, our communities stand ready to lead the way and kickstart our clean energy future. I look forward to continuing to work with President Biden on this front and to further lower everyday costs, safeguard our Dreamers, keep our communities safe, stand up for our veterans, and protect Medicare and Social Security for families here in the 25^th District and across the nation."
