The Second Half of "Welcome Week" Coming Up in September and October

This "Welcome Week" targets foreign tourists visiting Korea during the long weekends of Japan's Golden Week and China's Labor Day, from April 26 (Fri) to May 10 (Fri). Welcome booths will be set up at the Incheon, Gimpo, Gimhae, and Jeju international airports, where various sweepstakes and a "Photo Zone" featuring traditional Korean folk paintings will be held. In collaboration with 31 companies, the booths will distribute a "Welcome Bag" containing discount vouchers and gifts for visitors. Dedicated staff proficient in English, Japanese, and Chinese will also be present to provide information about transportation, dining, shopping, and other travel tips in Korea.

Furthermore, the Ministry and the Visit Korea Committee plan to operate additional Welcome Weeks in September and October, which will be timed with the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays in Chinese-speaking regions.

Vice Minister JANG Mi Ran expressed, "Through these Welcome Weeks, we hope that foreign tourists will have a positive first impression of Korea and enjoy traveling around the country, creating wonderful memories. The Ministry is planning to hold events that connect major regional tourist spots with festivals, such as the K-pop Playground in May and the Korea Beauty Festival in June, to attract more foreign visitors and allow them to enjoy various aspects of K-culture."
