Karim Adeyemi named 2022/2023 Rookie of the Season

Borussia Dortmund attacker Karim Adeyemi has been voted the "Rookie of the Season" for the current Bundesliga season.

In the fan vote, clubs and selected Bundesliga experts, the 21-year-old beat off stiff competition from Matthijs de Ligt (Bayern München), Henning Matriciani (FC Schalke 04), Lee Buchanan (Werder Bremen), Tom Krauß (FC Schalke 04) and Junior Dina Ebimbe (Eintracht Frankfurt).

This season, Adeyemi has scored six goals and laid on six assists in 22 Bundesliga games. He also hit the back of the net twice in the Champions League and once in the DFB-Pokal.

After Ousmane Dembélé (2016/2017), the German international is the second BVB player to win the coveted award. Last year, the trophy went to Jesper Lindström of Eintracht Frankfurt.
