Port Moody presents Trooper as headliner at Golden Spike Days Festival on June 30

The City of Port Moody and the Golden Spike Days Society are pleased to announce Canadian rock band Trooper will be the headline performer June 30 during the 2024 Golden Spike Days Festival in Rocky Point Park (2800 block Murray Street).

The show is part of the City's Canada Day celebrations but will take place Sunday, June 30 rather than Monday, July 1 to allow festival goers to enjoy an evening performance. Trooper will take the stage at 8:30pm.

"I'm thrilled to share the news that Trooper will kick off our Canada Day celebrations one day early with a special concert in Rocky Point Park," said Mayor Meghan Lahti. "Trooper last performed at the Golden Spike Days Festival in 2017. It was an amazing show and we're so glad to see them returning to the City of the Arts. Make sure you check out not only this performance but all the other wonderful entertainment and activities that will be part of the 47th Golden Spike Days Festival."

Trooper's 10 studio albums have earned multiple gold and platinum awards and their six-times platinum greatest hits collection, Hot Shots, continues to be one of Universal Music Canada's best selling catalog CDs and one of the country's most enduring party soundtracks. In 2010, in celebration of the band's 35th anniversary, a totally updated and re-mastered collection - "Hits From 10 Albums" - was released, featuring songs spanning the entirety of their recording career. Hits like "We're Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time)," "Raise a Little Hell," "The Boys in the Bright White Sportscar," and "Two For the Show," are Canadian classics and radio anthems that can be heard today on music stations across the country. Trooper was inducted into both the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and Canada's Walk of Fame in 2023.

Today, Trooper continues to tour on a regular basis and band members Paul Laine, Steve Crane, Gogo, Scott Brown, and Clayton Hill are excited to bring their action-packed live show to Port Moody this summer.

Don't miss Trooper's headline performance on June 30, part of a great line-up of musical entertainment happening throughout the Golden Spike Days Festival, June 29 through July 1, 2024.
