DALLAS - The South Oak Cliff Golden Bears, two-time defending state champions, are headed back for a three-peat. Coach Jason Todd and select players will be available for a media opportunity at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13, in SOC's gym. Media will also be able to observe 30 minutes of practice for B-roll from 5:30-6 p.m.

SOC and Port Neches-Groves High School will once again go head-to-head at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Dallas ISD families can purchase tickets on seatgeek.com using the code 5ADIIS23.

Dallas ISD students set to graduate this week
As we approach the end of the calendar year, some students are preparing to bid farewell to their time at Dallas ISD. After years of hard work, 123 students will walk the stage at the district's Fall Graduation ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 13. The event will take place at 7 p.m. at Alfred J. Loos Athletic Complex.

Two schools will unveil new book vending machines
Two Dallas ISD schools will receive book vending machines to advance literacy among young students. Courtesy of the Dallas Education Foundation, the vending machine is a unique initiative aimed to give students the opportunity to purchase a book of their choice using tokens earned in the classroom for positive behavior and academic achievements.

  • 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Arts Academy
  • 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 at L.L. Hotchkiss Elementary School
