Nairobi County Executive Ms. Rosemary Kariuki Graces Safaricom Chapa Dimba Tournament Finals at Dandora Stadium, Emphasizes Youth Empowerment and Talent Development

County Executive for Talent Skills Development and Care Ms. Rosemary Kariuki graces Safaricom Chapa Dimba Tournament finals Nairobi region at the newly opened Dandora Stadium.

The newly built Dandora Stadium has become a popular attraction since it was officially unveiled by the City Boss Governor Sakaja Johnson last week. County Executive Rosemary Kariuki has said that this tournament epitomizes the essence of youth empowerment, community engagement, and sportsmanship. It is a platform that not only showcases the immense talent present in our communities but also fosters unity and camaraderie among our youth.
The County Executive said that the completion of the stadium has come at a time when we need our youth to engage in activities that will shape their future in sports and turn away from drugs, crime and other sorts of activities that are detrimental to society. "I commend Safaricom for their commitment to nurturing talent at the grassroots level through initiatives like Chapa Dimba. By investing in our youth, they are investing in the future of our county and our nation as a whole."

Ms. Kariuki said there is hope for the future for the youth in Dandora and Nairobi as a whole. Dandora stadium offers a chance for our young people to nurture and build their talents here, monetize and grow their talents. It is a ray of light for prospective sports men and women. "To all the young athletes participating in this tournament, I want to commend each and every one of you for your dedication, hard work, and passion for the game. Your presence here today is a testament to your talent and determination, and I have no doubt that you will continue to make us proud both on and off the field."
The County Executive said that she is committed to supporting initiatives like Chapa Dimba that provide opportunities for our youth to thrive. "Sports not only promote physical well-being but also teach valuable life lessons such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience. I urge all of you to continue pursuing your dreams with unwavering determination and to always remember that with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible."

Nairobi City County has offered Dandora Stadium to host Nairobi regional chapa Dimba finals with the football extravaganza happening this weekend. The Safaricom Chapa Dimba regional final matches, which were played today at Dandora Stadium in Nairobi, with eight teams (four boys' and four girls' teams) lining up for the competition.

Nairobi is committed to delivering similar sports centers in all sub-counties, notable ones coming up in the next couple of months being City Stadium recently renamed Joe Kadenge now under renovation, Mwiki Sports Complex, and Woodley sports complex.
The winners (boys and girls) will take home a monetary token and book a slot to represent the region at the national finals set for early next year. The runners-up teams will take home a reward each.

The Best Goalkeeper, Top Scorer and Most Valuable Player (boys and girls) will each receive an award. In addition to the prize money each player, both winners and runners-up will also get Neon Smartphones, the first locally assembled 4G smartphone in Kenya.

Ms. Kariuki said the County extends gratitude to Safaricom for their invaluable contribution to youth development through sports. "Let us all come together to support and celebrate the talent and potential of our youth."
