On-Going Investigation Leads to Narcotics Trafficking Arrest

January 14, 2021

The Tallahassee Police Department is committed to enhancing the quality of life for citizens by addressing the illegal sale of narcotics in the community. While conducting an on-going investigation, information was gathered that helped to identify a suspect that was actively engaged in the sale of heroin at several locations across the city.

Members of TPD's General Narcotics Unit and Community Policing and Problem-Solving Squad worked together to investigate this case, and on Jan. 12, officers conducted a traffic stop of the car the suspect was seen traveling in. Probable cause was developed to search the vehicle and the suspect. The suspect was in possession of $3,500 and 11.8 grams of heroin, which is almost three times the threshold weight for trafficking.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention facility without incident.

This arrest was the result of continued efforts by TPD to make a decisive impact on all facets of the illegal drug trade in the City of Tallahassee. If you see this type of activity, report it by calling TPD at 850-891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.

Arrested:
