Gaza. The last group of minors arrives at Ciampino, welcomed by Undersecretary Tripodi

Following the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani - who had welcomed the first flight at Ciampino and the arrival of the ship Vulcano at La Spezia in recent days - Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Maria Tripodi today received the last group of Palestinian minors arriving from Gaza, assisted by staff from the Farnesina Crisis Unit.

Once they arrive at Ciampino, together with their families, on an Italian Air Force flight, some of the minors will be transferred to the Bambin Gesù Hospital in Rome, while others will continue their journey to the Pisa Military Airport to then be transferred to different hospitals. The Operational Commander of Joint Forces Summit (COVI), General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, was also present to welcome them.

"I would like to thank the staff of our Crisis Unit and the other State administrations who have worked intensively to enable this important and delicate humanitarian operation to be completed. Italy supports the civilian population and is committed to alleviating the suffering of those who are affected by the consequences of the conflict, starting with the most fragile groups", said Undersecretary Tripodi.

Today's flight concludes a broader operation coordinated by the Farnesina Crisis Unit, together with personnel from the Embassy in Cairo, Defence, Intelligence, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of the Interior and various Italian hospitals.
