Georgia Executive Order Extension

THE STATE OF GEORGIA
EXECUTIVE ORDER

BY THE GOVERNOR:

RENEWAL OF STATE OF EMERGENCY
FOR CONTINUED COVID-19 ECONOMIC RECOVERY

WHEREAS: On June 30, 2021, due to the ongoing negative impacts of COVID-19 on Georgia's economy, supply chain, and healthcare infrastructure, I issued Executive Order 06.30.21.01, declaring a State of Emergency for Continued COVID-19 Economic Recovery; and

WHEREAS: On July 22, 2021, I renewed the State of Emergency for Continued COVID-19 Economic Recovery until August 29, 2021, by issuing Executive Order 07.22.21.01; an

WHEREAS: On August 19, 2021, I renewed the State of Emergency for Continued COVID-19 Economic Recovery until September 28, 2021, by issuing Executive Order 08.19.21.01; and

WHEREAS: On August 19, 2021, I renewed the State of Emergency for Continued COVID-19 Economic Recovery until September 28, 2021, by issuing Executive Order 08.19.21.01; and

WHEREAS: On September 20, 2021, I renewed the State of Emergency for Continued COVID-19 Economic Recovery until October 28, 2021, by issuing Executive Order 09.20.21.01; and

WHEREAS: Code Section 38-3-51 vests the Governor with the power to renew any State of Emergency for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days; and

WHEREAS: Continued action by the State of Georgia is necessary to ensure the complete restoration of social and economic welfare of the State by responding to the ongoing effects of COVID-19 on the State; and

WHEREAS: In consultation with state economic, healthcare, and emergency preparedness officials, I have determined the state of emergency created by the continued negative impacts of COVID-19 persists in the State of Georgia, and that it is necessary and appropriate to renew the State of Emergency for Continued COVID-19 Economic Recovery for thirty (30) days.

NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO CODE SECTION 38-3-51, AND THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY

ORDERED: That the State of Emergency for Continued COVID-19 Economic Recovery declared by Executive Order 06.30.21.01 and renewed by Executive Orders 07.22.21.01, 08.19.21.01, and 09.20.21.01, which is set to expire on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 11:59 P.M., shall be renewed for thirty (30) days.

IT IS FURTHER

ORDERED: That the State of Emergency for Continued COVID-19 Economic Recovery shall terminate on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 11:59 P.M., unless it is renewed by the Governor.

IT IS FURTHER

ORDERED: That the terms of Executive Orders 06.30.21.01, 07.22.21.01, 08.19.21.01, and 09.20.21.01 are hereby adopted by reference.

IT IS FURTHER

ORDERED: That if one or more of the provisions contained in this Order shall be held to be invalid, in violation of the Georgia Constitution, in violation of Georgia law, or unenforceable in any respect, such invalidity, violation, or unenforceability shall not affect any other provisions of this Order, but, in such case, this Order shall be construed as if such invalid, illegal, or unenforceable provision had never been contained within the Order.

IT IS FURTHER

ORDERED: That all provisions of this Order shall become effective upon signature.
