Second Home Carinthia: LOOP prime used at the High Tech Campus Villach

With the High Tech Campus Villach, the Lindner Group is turning the vision of a closed-loop economy into reality: Around 1,900 m2 of LOOP prime raised floor panels now adorn the building. Furthermore, Lindner supplied the heated/chilled ceilings and other floor systems installed in the technology laboratory.

A Laboratory for Top-level Research in Villach

Covering an area of almost 16,000 m², the new High Tech Campus Villach offers both start-ups and established technology companies ideal conditions for research and development. Divided into four buildings and arranged like a chessboard, the campus complex offers space for a total of 500 workstations. Although the building's completion is not due until 2024, two sections have already been occupied.

Modular and Circular Interior Fit-out

The HTC Villach specialises in the fields of electronics, microelectronics, mechatronics and sensor technology, as well as renewable energy, climate protection and recycling. It comes therefore as no surprise that this commitment to sustainability is also reflected in the building's interior fit-out: Instead of a conventional floor system, the decision was made to use treated raised floor panels from Lindner. By doing so, the circular economy concept can also be implemented in the building. In order to use the rented space for as long as possible and to adapt it flexibly to the respective user, modular and dismountable expansion systems were chosen wherever possible. In addition to the sustainable raised floor, the High Tech Campus Villach features heated/chilled registers and other floor systems from Lindner as well.

Throwing Away Was Yesterday, Nowadays Reusing Is the New Thing

To create the recyclable raised floor, the LOOP panels were first removed from an existing building. Afterwards they were transported to the Lindner factory in Arnstorf, where the used floor panels were reconditioned and finally reinstalled in the HTC Villach. The reused panels have a number of advantages for interior construction. For one, the refurbished raised floor has the same technical and physical properties as new NORTEC panels - including all-round edge protection. Furthermore, LOOP prime has been awarded the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold certificate, which enhances the quality and economic value of the technology laboratory. By using around 1,900 m2 of LOOP prime floor panels, Lindner was able to save more than 70 % CO2 in the interior fit-out of the HTC Villach.
