Hospital da Luz Aveiro reinforces team of family doctors

The family doctor is the one we should always resort to in the first place. Meet our General and Family Medicine team.

Hospital da Luz Aveiro has been reinforcing its team of General and Family Medicine (GFM), which was reflected in 2023 in a growth of around 150% in the number of consultations. "We have a more comprehensive perspective of each patient. We know, for instance, what is necessary to prevent and control chronic diseases such as diabetes, monitor cardiovascular diseases, and ensure the implementation of screening exams or vaccination plans", explains physician João Terrível in a recent reportage to "Diário de Aveiro".

Besides this doctor, the Hospital da Luz Aveiro GMF service integrates Cláudia Cunha, Ferreira Rocha, Filipa S. Moreira, Maria de Fátima Veiga, Paula Alves Teixeira and Rita Bandarra. They are all experienced professionals that know their patients well and who are available via in person consultations, but also through video consultations, a convenient and innovative way to initiate the health follow-up. They work in team and, whenever necessary, in close cooperation with other specialities, in this or in other hospitals integrating the Hospital da Luz Network, within an integrated model of healthcare.
