CHC Dean Mari Castañeda, Anne Marie Russell, associate dean of student recruitment, inclusion, and success, Madalina Akli, director of the international scholars program, and Lisa Troy, CHC professor in nutrition, will present a session entitled "Best Practices in Honors Education: Honors Signature Programs as Incubators for Community Belonging and Understanding."

From the ground level of teaching the curriculum and directing the CHC's programs, the panel will share best practices in honors education from multiple lenses: recruitment, pedagogy, community engagement and leadership development. They will also note their Honors Signature Programs, including the International Scholar Program, Emerging Scholars and Sophomores-Serve.

The NCHC is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support and enhance the community of educational institutions, professionals and students who participate in collegiate honors education around the world. NCHC members total nearly 800 institutions from the United States and around the world, with professional and organizational affiliate memberships also available.

The annual conference highlights student and faculty research presentations from across the nation while providing training and development for honors program administrators and staff. This year's theme, "Revolutionary Honors: Liberty, Equality, Humanity," examines the ways in which honors colleges and programs can improve tomorrow's world by actions today, grouped into the themes of liberty, equality and humanity first heard in the French Revolution and codified by the Third Republic.

The national submission process for the NCHC annual conference is highly selective, with hundreds of students and faculty submitting proposals each year. NCHC conference presentations provide a unique opportunity to showcase work being done in honors across the globe and grow the national honors conversation, providing other honors colleagues a chance to discuss the topic, exploring collaborations, research and innovation.
