NOPD Investigating Homicide in Sixth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the early hours today (April 18, 2024) and claimed the lives of two victims.

At about 4:20 a.m., NOPD Second and Sixth District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located two adult male gunshot wound victims. Both victims were declared deceased on scene.

A person of interest has been detained for questioning in this investigation.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will identify the victims and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
