Inspiring Achievement: United Tractors Scholarship Awardee Peter Judianto Acknowledged as Top Graduate from Universitas Brawijaya

Jakarta, January 22th, 2024 - Proud achievement was attained by one of the scholarship recipients from PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), namely Peter Ananthaputra Judianto, during the graduation ceremony at Brawijaya University (UB) for the 8th Academic Year of 2023/2024 on Sunday (01/14/2024). Peter secured the Best Graduate title from the Chemical Engineering Program with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.98. This outstanding accomplishment underscores Peter's dedication and perseverance in completing his studies. The UT Inspiring Youth program strives to assist the ongoing education of young generations and accomplished students in Indonesia, as part of UT's efforts to make a positive impact.

Starting his education at Kalam Kudus Christian Elementary School in Malang to Malang State High School 3 (SMA Negeri 3 Malang), Peter consistently demonstrated determination throughout his secondary education. Peter held Malang's highest ranking in the National Computer-Based Exam (UNBK) for the science major (IPA) in Malang in 2019. Additionally, he secured the third position among the top ten students in State and Private High Schools throughout East Java with a focus on IPA.

Compared to rote memorization, Peter's proficiency in numbers led him to choose Chemical Engineering at UB despite his father being a doctor. At the beginning of his university studies, Peter faced challenging circumstances when his father fell ill, and his mother, a teacher, had to support the family with two older siblings also attending UB. This situation prevented Peter from affording the Single Tuition Fee (UKT).

During these difficult times, Peter contemplated withdrawing from UB and seeking a more affordable university. His story garnered support from various quarters a few years ago. Due to the numerous achievements he had gained during school, Peter became a focal point in local media. In 2019, UT contacted Peter to provide a scholarship, enabling him to continue his education at UB.

"Peter's achievement as the Best Graduate at UB is a source of pride for us. It is evidence of UT's commitment to providing full support for the young generation in Indonesia to pursue their education. We hope Peter can become a high-quality and beneficial successor for Indonesia," said UT's CSR Manager, Himawan Sutanto.
