H.R. 2002 would require the Department of State to review its guidance to other executive branch agencies on how to conduct relations between the United States and Taiwan, to reissue that guidance, and to report to the Congress on the results of its review and on the implementation of recent related legislation.
Using information about the costs of similar activities, CBO estimates that revising the guidance and satisfying the reporting requirements in H.R. 2002 would cost less than $500,000 in 2019; such spending would be subject to the availability of appropriated funds.
