Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi and Deputy Minister Pam Tshwete visit Moses Kotane Community Residential Units affordable rental housing project in North West, 15 Sept

Human Settlements Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi and Deputy Minister Tshwete will on Friday, 15 September 2023, visit Moses Kotane Community Residential Units (CRU) - one of the affordable rental housing projects in North West.

The visit to the Bojanala Platinum District will include a meeting between the three spheres of government which is expected to receive a report about the Provincial performance in the delivery of affordable rental and decent accommodation, mainly for the missing middle.

Minister Kubayi, together with the Deputy Minister, North West Acting Premier and MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Nono Maloyi will also hand over keys to the new tenants of the Moses Kotane CRUs in Mogase.

The CRUs comprise of 110 units, including bachelor and two-bedroom rental accommodations. It supports the upgrading of government-owned communal rental accommodation. The CRUs are one of the departmental housing programmes aimed to facilitate the provision of secure, stable rental tenure for lower income earners.

The handover of CRUs will be followed by the convening of a regular rotational meeting between the Ministry and all Provincial MECs for Human Settlements (MINMEC). The MINMEC will amongst others focus on the assessment of the Department's delivery pace versus its set targets for the 2023/2024 financial year. Details of the programme are as follows:
