Freshfields advises ABB on its acquisition of Siemens' wiring and accessories business in China

Global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer ('Freshfields') is advising ABB Asea Brown Boveri Ltd. ('ABB') on the acquisition of the low voltage wiring and accessories business of Siemens in China. The transaction is structured as a mixed share and asset deal and also comprises of a trademark licensing agreement. The consummation of the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

ABB is a technology leader in electrification and automation. The transaction will broaden ABB's market reach and complement its regional customer offering with smart buildings. The offering ABB is acquiring includes wiring accessories, smart home systems, smart door locks and further peripheral home automation products, which will continue with the Siemens brand under terms of the licensing agreement.
