Visitors admire the Chen Hongshou's painting Seeking Spring with a Cudgel .

Why is Preface to the Orchid Pavilion so fascinating? How did the guests at the famous Lanting Gathering on the third day of the third month in the ninth year of the Yonghe reign of the Eastern Jin Dynasty freely express their feelings? On April 22nd, nearly a hundred spectators walked into the Tianyi Pavilion and imitated the ancients to attend an elegant exhibition, admiring five rare Ming and Qing calligraphy and painting masterpieces with their naked eyes.

Early that morning, professionals and art enthusiasts from museums, universities gathered at the Tianyi Pavilion's Zhoujin Hall. "We arrived more than an hour earlier, and we were very excited!" Mr. Kong, who loves collecting calligraphy and painting, was extremely excited. At the scene, he clearly saw that the Rural April Scroll which connected the activities of 160 characters through the Qianmo River Bridge like planting seedlings, picking mulberry leaves, fishing, irrigation... "It was very clear and shocking.

The five precious calligraphy and paintings including Hu Zongxin and Wu Xian' folded fan painting Lanting Gathering, Wen Zhengming's folded fan painting Flow, and Chen Hongshou's painting Seeking Spring with a Cudgel from Ming Dynasty, Jiang Chenying's running script Preface to the Orchid Pavilion and Cao Jing's Rural April Scroll were all the first to leave the ancient pavilion for viewers to watch without glass barriers. A communication and sharing meeting was also held on site, where painters, collectors, calligraphy and painting researchers, and cultural and museum volunteers shared their viewing experiences and insights.

Why is this event happening? It is learned that in addition to ancient books, Tianyi Pavilion also has many precious calligraphy, paintings, and inscriptions. Mr. Feng Jicai once sighed, "Tianyi Pavilion Library should have another name, called Tianyi Pavilion Library Gallery." However, due to the objective conditions of the exhibition hall, these treasures have been hidden for many years, unable to meet the needs of viewing and research. To this end, Tianyi Pavilion continues to innovate exhibition modes and deepen the viewing experience, and has specially planned and launched a series of activities called "Tianyi True Appreciation - Tianyi Pavilion Collection of Fine Cultural Relics Appreciation". This ancient calligraphy and painting appreciation activity is the first of "Tianyi True Appreciation".

"Today falls on the third day of the third lunar month, which is the traditional Shangsi Festival. Since ancient times, it has been an important day for spring outings. This event is also centered around 'spring', "said Liu Xiaofeng, director of the Institute of Calligraphy, Painting and Utensils at the Tianyige Museum. Compared with the crowded and leisurely viewing of calligraphy and painting exhibitions, this event adopts a reservation method and is divided into 5 receptions, each with 15 seats available, allowing viewers to not only appreciate them up close, but also exchange impressions with each other. He hoped that through this immersive experience, ancient calligraphy and painting can be presented to everyone in a different way.

It is reported that in the future, Tianyi Pavilion will gradually present its collection of exquisite works according to their themes, allowing them to accessible to the public. By building a cultural, museum, and aesthetic education platform so that the cultural relics in the museum can truly "come to life".
