Huntsville Parks & Recreation Summer Program Guide offers cool fun on hot days

With summer just around the corner, now is a great time to explore the seasonal offerings in Huntsville Parks & Recreation's 2024 Summer Program Guide.

The jam-packed guide features more than 100 free activities, workshops and special events that promise fun in the sun and cool opportunities to chill out.

"We're committed to ensuring a vibrant and active summer for all residents, no matter your age," said Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. "Our dedicated staff members are highly trained and are eager to provide engaging events and programs, most of which are offered at no cost."

Looking to stay active? There are plenty of opportunities to get fit, from energetic Zumba sessions to a Couch to 5K program. There's also a variety of athletic offerings, from traditional sports like volleyball and soccer to new favorites like pickleball and cornhole.

Love nature and the outdoors? Explore mountain bike rides tailored for both beginners and intermediate riders. Budding artists can unlock their creativity through art and sewing classes.

The guide also features details about upcoming special events. From youth fishing rodeos to celebratory festivals honoring fathers, the summer calendar is filled with opportunities for family fun.
