Urban Edge Properties Names Bernie Schachter as Executive Vice President - Asset Management

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Urban Edge Properties (NYSE:UE) today announced the appointment of Bernie Schachter to the position of Executive Vice President - Asset Management. Mr. Schachter, 56, is expected to join Urban Edge in May 2016 and brings more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of real estate ownership, development and operation. He will oversee Urban Edge's development and property management functions.

Mr. Schachter is currently Senior Vice President of Real Estate for Staples, Inc. and has oversight responsibility for retail site selection, store design, construction, and facilities and energy management. He also oversees non-store real estate functions including headquarters operations, warehouses, distribution centers, call centers and sales offices. Mr. Schachter earned a BS in Economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and an MS in Real Estate from MIT.
