Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is on a working visit to Ukraine

This week, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jonatan Vseviov is on a working visit to Ukraine. The aim of the visit is to express Estonia's strong support for Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic integration, and to discuss the current security situation in Ukraine and its immediate neighbourhood.

The secretary general will meet with Ukraine's foreign policy leaders, including Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, member of the Verkhovna Rada Halyna Yanchenko, Deputy Foreign Minister Vasyl Bodnar, the President's Foreign Affairs Advisor Ihor Zhovka and leaders of security services, and he will also visit Ukraine's cybersecurity centre.

On Wednesday, Secretary General Vseviov visited the administrative border crossing of Kalanchak with occupied Crimea. 'Ukraine's security is Europe's security. Estonia will never recognise the illegal annexation of Crimea. It is important to come and see the situation on the ground and witness how Crimea is cut off from the free world with a red line drawn on the asphalt and barbed wire beyond,' Vseviov said.

On Wednesday, he also had meetings with the industrial leaders of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Estonia's future honorary consul Iurii Kunaiev. Secretary General Vseviov underlined, 'Ukraine has enormous economic potential, you can see it everywhere. I encourage the people of Ukraine to continue reforms and fighting corruption to secure their prosperity.'
