The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a assault investigation.

On Monday, October 30, 2023, at approximately 11:40 a.m., police received a call for an assault in the area of Pape Avenue and Floyd Avenue.

It is alleged that:

  • A Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) was conducting enforcement in the area
  • The PEO was in the process of issuing a violation notice to an illegally parked vehicle
  • The victim was confronted by the accused
  • The accused grabbed the officer by the body armor and pulled the victim towards him
  • The accused let the victim go and when attempting to return to his vehicle for safety the victim was prevented from doing so by the accused who stood in front of the door and held it shut

Anastasis Hatzinikolaou, 48, of Toronto has been arrested and charged with:

  1. Assault a Peace Officer

He is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 2:00pm in room 202.
