The National Assembly honoured the memory of the great poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev and those who died for the freedom and independence of Bulgaria. At the time when the sirens for Botev's Day sounded, the MPs stood on their feet and bowed their heads to honour the hero and the cause of those who died for the freedom of our country.

Parliament adopted at second reading amendments to the Judiciary Act, which provide for the removal of the National Investigative Service from the prosecution, to become an independent structure. The Service will be headed by a Director, not as before by the Prosecutor General - directly or through the Director, who is also the Deputy Prosecutor General for the investigation.

The Director of the National Investigative Service is to appoint the investigators and carry out the administrative-organizational and methodological management of the structure, provide for the amendments. According to them, proposals for nominations for director of the Service can be made by not less than three members of the Supreme Judicial Council, as well as the Minister of Justice. The amendments regulate the establishment of regional investigative services to each district administrative centre, and for Sofia - the investigative service "Sofia-city".

With 199 votes in favour, five against and five abstentions, the National Assembly obliged the Council of Ministers to submit a report on all planned, undertaken and implemented actions on the implementation of the decision of the previous Parliament to renegotiate the National Recovery and Resilience Plan in Part Energy. The report must be prepared and submitted to Parliament within 15 working days of the adoption of the decision, MPs voted.

The National Assembly obliged the Council of Ministers to provide information in the report about all documents prepared and related to the possible construction of photovoltaic systems and/or industrial parks in real estate owned by Mini Maritsa Iztok EAD and which are used for coal mining, as well as for decisions and/or draft decisions of the line ministries related to the disposal with real estate and/or fulfillment of the obligations of Mini Maritsa Iztok EAD under the concession contract concluded in 2005.

Parliament ratified at first reading the Agreement between the Parties to the Convention on Police Cooperation in South-East Europe on the Automated Exchange of DNA Data, Dactyloscopic Data and Data on the Registration of Motor Vehicles, the Agreement implementing the Agreement between the Parties to the Convention on Police Cooperation in South-East Europe on the Automated Exchange of DNA Data, Dactyloscopic Data and Data on the Registration of Motor Vehicles and the Protocol amending the Agreement between the Parties to the Convention on Police Cooperation in South-East Europe on the Automated Exchange of DNA Data, Dactyloscopic Data and Data on the Registration of Motor Vehicles.

The National Assembly gave its consent for Bulgaria to participate in the capital increase of the Development Bank of the Council of Europe. The proposal, made by the interim government, received the approval of 113 of the MPs, 34 were against.

Parliament adopted the Report on the State of Defence and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Bulgaria in 2022.
