Esade, Spain’s most ESG-responsible academic establishment according to Merco

The Merco Responsabilidad ESG España 2023 report is the result of an exhaustive, in-depth analysis of more than 53,587 questionnaires based on 25 sources of information and 7 viewpoints. It studied companies in 35 industries and produced a general classification headed by ONCE, Inditex and Mercadona, in which Esade has climbed three positions since last year (#52).

According to the panels of experts consulted, the main strengths of the most responsible companies in this year's report were transparency and good governance (66.5 points out of 100), followed by commitment to the environment and climate change (65.2), responsibility towards employees (64.8), contribution to the community (64.7) and ethical behavior (61.9).

Said panels consisted of 1,153 managers, 77 CSR experts, 89 finance analysts, 89 economic and social affair journalists, 88 members of "government", 106 NGO officials, 85 union officials, 79 from consumer associations, 89 social media managers, 400 SME managers and 8,001 citizens, and also the latest edition of Merco Talent (with a sample of 43,331 persons) and Merco Digital (in collaboration with Nethodology) which analyses posts and conversations on social media.
