“We form centers of attraction with nation’s gardens”

Addressing via video conference the opening ceremony of nine nation's gardens, President Erdoğan said: "With every nation's garden we inaugurate, we form centers of attractions that add to the social, cultural and economic values of our cities."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed via video conference the opening ceremony of nine nation's gardens on the occasion of Türkiye Environment Week.

Voicing his happiness to be inaugurating nine nation's gardens in nine different cities, including Adıyaman, President Erdoğan noted that the nation's gardens cover an area of 1 million 466 thousand square meters in total.

Stressing that the newly-inaugurated nation's gardens would further beautify the cities they are located in, President Erdoğan said: "Each one of these nation's gardens is really a fascinating project with its green areas, facilities, walking and cycling tracks and sports areas as well as other opportunities it offers."

President Erdoğan continued his remarks as follows: "With nation's gardens, we not only embellish our cities with green areas where our people can take a breath, we also meet the social needs of different segments of the society from children to the elderly, from the youth to working people. Our citizens tired of the urban life's chaos let their souls rest, our children socialize, and the youth come together here. Our people of all ages obtain the opportunity to lead a healthy life by doing sports and exercise here. Nation's gardens also fill in a big void by serving as a venue of many cultural and artistic events. With every nation's garden we inaugurate, we form centers of attractions that add to the social, cultural and economic values of our cities."

Pointing out that nation's gardens also serve as emergency gathering areas in times of disasters, President Erdoğan stressed that the February 6 earthquakes once again laid bare the critical importance of such gathering sites.
