Ambassador of the European Union to Turkmenistan, Ms Beata Peksa met with the Ombudsperson for Human Rights in Turkmenistan, Ms Yazdursun Gurbannazarova

On 24 November 2023, the Ambassador of the European Union to Turkmenistan, Ms Beata Peksa met with the Ombudsperson for Human Rights of Turkmenistan, Ms Yazdursun Gurbannazarova.⠀
During the meeting, the parties discussed further partnership between Turkmenistan and the European Union in the field of Human Rights protection.

In this regard, the participation of the Turkmen delegation in the 44th session of the Working Group of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) held from 6 November to 17 November in Geneva, Switzerland, as well as​ participation of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan in the Annual Joint dialogue on Human Rights between the European Union and Turkmenistan since the beginning of the founding of the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan were mentioned.⠀
In conclusion, Ms. Peksa once again reaffirmed the commitment of the European Union to further strengthening relations between the EU and Turkmenistan in the fields of protection of Human Rights and the Rule of Law.
