WINTER STORM RECOVERY: Power Outages, Documenting Damage & Water Update

POWER OUTAGES

AUSTIN ENERGY (AE) UPDATE:

There are still around 400 AE customers without power (mainly in the Cardinal Hills area) in Lakeway. Local leaders were on another call Sunday morning with Austin Energy leaders, but still were not provided with a specific timeline on repairs. AE was given an extensive list provided by local leaders of specific properties and locations still without power (many of those locations in the Cardinal Hills area) on Saturday and we have received just a few updates mainly relating to issue crews are facing, including extensive repairs to some power lines and poles, including damage from multiple downed trees, low wires, blown fuses and heavy vegetation damage. AE is supposed to provide a better update Sunday evening, and we will pass along more information as we get it. There is still no time frame on when full power will be restored for AE customers. If you are out of power and in need of a place to shower and clean-up, HCI Sports and Fitness in Bee Cave (13875 Bee Cave Parkway) is offering their services. They are open until 7 p.m. Sunday, and will open again Monday at 9 a.m.

Public Update from Austin Energy as of midday Sunday: "Currently there are about 1,600 outages affecting 45,000 customers. More than 600 workers from Austin Energy and other utilities are working around the clock to restore power."

If you see a downed line, please report it if you haven't already. For motorists, treat any intersection without power as a 4-way stop. Please continue to report outages and downed lines directly to Austin Energy or PEC, depending on your provider. You can call Austin Energy at 512-322-9100 or Text OUT to 287846.

PEC UPDATE:

Restoration appears complete for all but about 5 properties as of midday Sunday in the Lakeway area. If you're a PEC customer and still experiencing a power outage, please call 888-883-3379 or by texting "Outage" to 25022 depending. Links to both AE and PEC outage maps are below.

CHECK POWER:

If you do not have power, be sure to switch off all appliances (to help with the load when power is restored). If your neighbors have lights on, be sure to check your breaker box.

Document Damage

We are under a Disaster Declaration.
