Dr. Paul Dungey, Regional Supervising Coroner for the East Region, Kingston Regional Office, announced today that an inquest will be held into the death of Allan Wert.
Mr. Wert, 57, died on November 25, 2021, at a residential property in Kawartha Lakes following an interaction with an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Wert's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
