Lima, two Italian films at the AL ESTE Film Festival

Italy takes part in the 13th edition of the AL ESTE Film Festival, which brings to Peru the film productions of Central and Eastern Europe, South America and Asia and is running in Lima from 1 to 11 June in blended attendance format.

The Italian Cultural Institute in Lima presents the screening of two films and a Masterclass by Michelangelo Frammartino (Special Prize, Venice 2021) scheduled for the 6th of June. His film "Il buco" ("The Hole") is set in August 1961, when speleologists from the flourishing North of Italy reach a plateau in the Calabria Region where time seems to have stopped. An elderly shepherd is the testimonial of that unexplored land located in the Abisso del Bifurto (Bifurto Abyss).

The second film is "Atlantide" by Yuri Ancarani, which is set on the Island of St. Erasmo, where a 24-year-old young man stands out among his peers for being more reserved and leading a lonely life.
