AEM’s Sarah Spanjar Earns Society of Human Resources (SHRM) Certification

AEM's Sarah Spanjar is now a SHRM-certified professional.

The Society of Human Resources (SHRM) is the world's largest HR membership organization, and the SHRM-CP is recognized and valued by employers in all industries as the premier human resources certification.

"Obtaining the SHRM-CP demonstrates my legitimacy in the field and my competencies in all operating areas of HR," said Spanjar, who works as AEM's human resources manager. "It also gives me the opportunity to apply these skills to my work, and to serve in roles that inspire others and show them a path forward professionally."

Spanjar joined AEM in September 2022 as the association's human resources coordinator. In her current role, she manages benefits administration, talent acquisition, employee relations, and learning and development. In addition, she facilitates AEM's internship program and manages its newly launched peer resource groups centered around career development.

Prior to her time at AEM, Spanjar attended Arizona State University through the Starbucks College Achievement Program (SCAP) and received a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership in August of 2021. She worked as a recruiter focused on manufacturing roles in the Milwaukee metro area for one year before coming to work at AEM. This fall, Spanjar is set to start working toward obtaining a master's degree in human resources management with the help of AEM's tuition reimbursement plan.
