Donation to the Ministry of National Defense, from the Motor Oil Group.

With special appreciation for the work of the Armed Forces of the country and with a longstanding interest in strengthening National Defense, the Motor Oil donated computer equipment to the Ministry of National Defense.

The handover ceremony of the equipment took place on Thursday, April 4th, at the "IOANNIS KAPODISTRIAS" hall, in the presence of the General Secretary of the Ministry of National Defense, Antonios Oikonomou, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) General Dimitrios Houpis, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff (HAGS) Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS) Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras, and the Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff (HNFGS) Brigadier General (I) Ioannis Kotsakis, representing the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff Rear Admiral (I) Demosthenes Grigoriadis.

Motor Oil was represented by the Information Technology General Manager - Chief Information Officer, Mr. Nikos Giannakakis, the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer, Mr. Konstantinos Saflianis, the Director of Infrastructure and IT Operations, Mr. Vasilis Anastasiou, the Director of Public Relations and Communications, Mrs. Amalia Kyparissi, and the Head of IT Systems and Cloud Services, Mr. Andreas Kolonias.

The equipment will contribute to enhancing the high availability of the Information Systems of the Armed Forces, particularly the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS).

Indicatively, the equipment includes Information Systems for use in Data Centers and consists of the following categories:

  • Servers rack mounted & Standalone
  • Network Switches
  • Storage Boxes
  • Racks
  • FC SAN Switches
  • Other Computer Equipment
