Dr. Chandrasekharan Named a Physician of the Year by WNY Perinatal Bereavement Network

Congratulations to Praveen Chandrasekharan, MD, MS, neonatologist at Oishei Children's Hospital and UBMD Pediatrics, who was selected as one of the Western New York Perinatal Bereavement Network Inc.'s (WNYPBN) "Physicians of the Year."

Nominated and selected by a committee of his peers, Dr. Chandrasekharan received the award for his outstanding dedication to the bereaved families within the WNYPBN community. He will accept the award during the 10th Annual "Elegant Evening to Remember" on November 4.

Dr. Chandrasekharan is also an associate professor of pediatrics at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.

The WNYPBN is a nonprofit public charity that offers emotional support to families who have suffered the tragedy of perinatal and early infant death, and educational support to the community at large. The mission of the WNYPBN is to assist the community to meet the needs of people facing the pain of perinatal death. The WNYPBN supports an established standard of care following a perinatal death and promotes standards of bereavement intervention through educational support, community programs, and referral services for bereaved parents.
