Keep Fort Worth Beautiful was recently named a Gold Star Affiliate by Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB), a statewide grassroots environmental and community improvement nonprofit organization. Gold Star Affiliate is the highest status of membership recognition any community affiliate can achieve.

In 2023, KTB affiliates engaged more than 32,000 volunteers in over 500 cleanups who contributed to collecting 3.7 million pounds of waste and recyclables from Texas roadways, trails and waterways. Keep Fort Worth Beautiful successfully implemented programs to clean up litter, reduce and recycle waste and educate residents. Their work beautifies and enhances the local Fort Worth community.

Each year, Keep Fort Worth Beautiful hosts several citywide cleanups, including the Cowtown Great American Cleanup and Neighborhood Litter Stomp. They participate in numerous outreach and community events involving schools, nonprofits, businesses and homeowners/neighborhood meetings.

"Keep Fort Worth Beautiful is dedicated to making our community the best place to live, work and play. We're proud of our volunteers for making Fort Worth a more beautiful place by reducing litter, promoting recycling and partnering with us to support our local environment," said KFWB representative Avery Pesek.

Affiliates that reach Gold Star status have demonstrated organizational aptitude and have robust community support. To achieve Gold Star status, affiliates share their mission and goals, answer questions about their economic development and diversity and inclusion practices, or participate in the Beautify Texas Awards or Governor's Community Achievement Awards programs. They also provide a letter of support from their community. KTB will formally recognize Gold Star communities during the KTB Conference in June.
