Four Arrested Following Reported Firearms Discharge in Great Horton, Bradford

Four people have been arrested following reports of a firearms discharge in the Great Horton area of Bradford.

Police were called at 7:11pm to a report that a firearm had been discharged at a building on Great Horton Road, Bradford.

Officers attended at the scene and following enquiries, including the use of a police helicopter, four males were arrested in the vicinity and taken into custody.

The males, aged 17, 17, 18 and 20, have been arrested on suspicion of offences including possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply and possession of an offensive weapon.

No injuries have been reported and at this time enquiries are ongoing in relation to any damage caused.

Detective Inspector Helen Chapman, of Bradford District CID, said: "In this instance there is no suggestion that any firearms have been directed at others, but we know that any use of weapons will cause some concern in the wider community.

"We have four people in custody, and they will be interviewed in due course.

"Local residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area while we conduct enquiries into this incident."
