Minister Xhaçka commemorated Flag Day: Albania today, a modern state

On the occasion of Flag Day, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, congratulated all Albanians by posting a video on social networks.

The video lists some of Albania's greatest achievements over the years, such as NATO membership, chairmanship of the OSCE, securing a non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council, etc.

"109 years of independence! Happy Flag Day Albania", wrote Minister Xhaçka.

A statement congratulating the 109th anniversary was presented by the US Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken.

In a press release, Blinken emphasized that the United States remains committed to supporting Albania's democratic institutions, justice and economic reforms, and the future towards European Union.

On November 28, 1912, Ismail Qemali raised the Albanian flag in Vlora, declaring the independence of the Albanian state.
