Finland's Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will attend a meeting of Nordic and Baltic foreign ministers (NB8), to be held in Latvia 6-7 September.
The foreign ministers will discuss current affairs in foreign and security policy, such as Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine, support to Ukraine, topical NATO matters, and response to hybrid threats.
"The cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries is deepening. The NB8 countries are Finland's close partners in a number of areas. It is valuable to discuss current security affairs and regional questions in this format," Minister Valtonen says.
This year's meeting will be chaired by Latvia, the current coordinating country of NB8 cooperation. While in Latvia, the foreign ministers will also visit the Finnish company Patria's production facility in Latvia.
