Empowering Young Researchers: Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad’s Partnership with Leave a Nest in Science Castle Grant Award Ceremony 2024

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 MAY 2024 - Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad (AMB) is thrilled to announce the collaboration with Leave a Nest (LVNS) in hosting the Science Castle Grant Award Ceremony. This is part of the company's Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value (ASV)¹ initiatives to contribute to society. Five teams of high school students were selected from the final screening, RM 2,000 was provided to each team for the 5-month research.

The Grant Award Ceremony was held on 2nd May 2024 in conjunction with the sensory workshop at the AMB Bandar Enstek Factory, Negeri Sembilan. This event underscored our commitment to education, innovation, and fostering scientific curiosity among young researchers.

The Science Castle Grant 2024 Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad Award aims to cultivate new seeds of innovation, and create a more inclusive learning environment to empower passionate students in their research. It will increase their contributions in global sustainability that align with our company's vision, focusing on 5 themes related to science and technology.

The 5 research themes include Sustainable Food Products Using Local Materials, Innovation in Health and Well-being Products, Food Deliciousness, Food Packaging and Food Waste Management.

The grant programme includes mentoring sessions. Mentors from LVNS and AMB researchers will guide each team through their research projects. The shortlisted teams will have the opportunity to present their research findings at the Science Castle in Asia 2024 Conference, held on 19 and 20 October 2024 at Tun Chancellor Hall, Multimedia University (MMU) Cyberjaya.
