Participating in the 80th session of ESCAP

On April 22-23, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand, Mr. Ardasher Qodiri, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to ESCAP, engaged in discussions within the frameworkof the 80th session of ESCAP. Permanent Representative of Tajikistan addressed the session, focusing on leveraging digital innovation for sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific, as well as issues concerning Least Developed, Landlocked Developing, and Small Island Developing States.

During his speeches, Tajikistan's representative highlighted national initiatives and strategies aligning with SDGs on both national and international fronts. Emphasis was placed on key programs like Tajikistan's Concept of the Digital Economy, the Medium-Term Development Program for the Digital Economy (2021-2025), and the formation of e-Government. Additionally, significant attention was drawn to Tajikistan's contributions to the Water Action Decade and Agenda, stemming from the UN's 2023 Water Conference.

In conclusion, the Permanent Representative extended an invitation to the LLDCs, ESCAP Members, and Associate Members to actively participate in the upcoming Third High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028".
