ArtWALK Event THIS WEEKEND

Presented by the City of Lakeway and Lakeway Arts Committee

WHEN: Friday, April 19 - Sunday, April 21, 2024

WHERE: Hamilton Greenbelt, Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden and various art studios and business locations

WHY: To showcase art, music, community and culture in Lakeway!

FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

OVERVIEW

Join us for this special event featuring artwork, food, music and much more! Start on Friday with a studio art tour, and live music at the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden. Then, plan to spend your Saturday visiting several local artists in our area parks and at various art studios and a special student exhibit at the library. You'll be able to experience over 20 artists as you stroll through Hamilton Greenbelt and the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden, along with the opportunity to visit more than 20 studio and businesses opening their doors to the public to exhibit their artwork. Finally, end your art-filled experience Sunday with a visit to more art studios, and a special performance by TexARTS at the Lakeway Activity Center! EVENT DETAILS

FRIDAY, APRIL 19

5 PM - 8 PM : Adams Gallery (1310 RR 620 S, Suite C-4)

  • "Adams Galleries is pleased to support the City of Lakeway and the Lakeway Arts Committee in their first-ever ArtWALK. Join us at the gallery on Friday, April 19, as we kick off the weekend's festivities: an artist meet-and-greet, wine, and light bites from 5:00 to 8:00. This event is open to the public and free of charge. We are next door to The League Kitchen & Tavern in the Lakeway Plaza: 1310 RR 620 S, Suite C-4."

About Adams Galleries: Fine Art & Custom Framing in Lakeway since 2015. Offering an extensive selection of fine art, they feature original art from local, regional, and nationally recognized artists, as well as enhanced giclées on canvas and paper. Services include complimentary art consultations, custom framing, and art installation services for your residence or business.

7 PM - 8:30 PM: Music at Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden (104 Cross Creek)

  • Join us for a live concert in the park under the stars, taking place at the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden. The opening night of ArtWALK 2024 will feature the Christian Wiggs Sextet. Bring your own beverages, snacks and chairs! CLICK HERE to read more about Christian Wiggs.*
    * In the event of rain Friday evening, the performance will be moved to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 21 inside the Lakeway Activity Center.

SATURDAY, APRIL 20

10 AM - 4 PM :Arts at Hamilton Greenbelt and Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden (104 Cross Creek)

  • Walk the path at the Sculpture Garden and enjoy a variety of art along the way during this FREE community event. There will also be food for purchase by local favorites Craig O's Pizza, Love & Cookies and more!
  • Children's Coloring Contest: There will be an opportunity for children to participate in a coloring contest, with the entries judged by our mayor.
  • Parking is available at the Lakeway Justice Complex Located at 105 Cross Creek
  • Several homes and businesses will be open for viewing during this time. There will also be some active demonstrations and artists at work.
  • Rock Painting: Children will be able to help paint rocks at the Enchanted Forest Studio Tour, which will be added to the Painted Rock Garden in the Hamilton Greenbelt.

2 PM - 4 PM : LTHS Student Art Exhibit at the Lake Travis Community Library (1938 Lohmans Crossing Rd)

  • This exhibit will be open to the public through April, but you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a special 'meet and greet' artist reception during this time. This also includes a People's Choice Award selection that day!

SUNDAY, APRIL 21

  • Several homes and businesses will be open for viewing during this time.

2 PM :TexARTS Performance at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek)

  • This performance will feature students of the Emerging Professionals Division. This performance is FREE and open to the public. More details will be provided soon on the performance.

PARKING

Parking for the events at the Hamilton Greenbelt and Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden will be available in the Justice Center Complex parking lot (104 Cross Creek) and Activity Center parking lot (105 Cross Creek). The Hamilton Greenbelt parking area will be CLOSED to the general public on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20 for the event.
