Greeley welcomes new Deputy City Manager (DCM)/Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

GREELEY, Colo. - The City of Greeley welcomes Allena Portis as the city's new Deputy City Manager/Chief Financial Officer (DCM/CFO).

Portis's professional background spans over twenty years in local government roles. Her experience includes Assistant City Manager/Chief Financial Officer for Missouri City, TX, and previously the Director of Finance for League City, TX.

In her most recent role as Assistant City Manager/Chief Financial Officer for Missouri City, Portis oversaw the day-to-day operations of the city with oversight of the finance, human resources and development services departments. She was responsible for the functions of accounting, budgeting, treasury, debt management, and revenue collection, among others. Portis's understanding of local government and experience in high-growth communities makes her an ideal fit for the City of Greeley.

With the City of Greeley, Portis will play a vital role in shaping and executing the City's vision while addressing the diverse needs of the community. As DCM/CFO, Portis will be tasked with planning, organizing, and directing critical financial functions. Her leadership in budgeting, accounting, auditing, procurement, and financial reporting not only ensures transparency and accountability but also lays the foundation for sustainable growth and prosperity. Portis embodies the city's values of integrity, excellence and service, and as she steps into this role, will champion of the welfare of every member of our community.

Portis received her Master of Public Administration from Golden Gate University, her Master of Urban Planning from the University of Southern California and her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Phoenix.

Portis will succeed Rodney Rhoades, who served as interim CFO while the search commenced. Her first day as DCM/CFO is May 7.
