Dog Park upgrades begin

Published 07 February 2024

As part of the Withers Placemaking Project, earthworks have started this week to kick off upgrades to the John Banks Memorial Dog Park.

The Parade Road dog park is closed Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 February for the works, which will see the area levelled to improve safety and access for our community.

Further upgrades over the coming months will include fencing, a new small dog area and airlocks, seating shelters and relocation of the park's drink fountain.

These exciting upgrades are the result of successful consultation sessions with our Withers community as part of the placemaking project, which is funded by a $60,000 grant from the South West Development Commission.

Upgrades to this popular dog park are just the latest improvements in the area with the Withers Regional Renewal Project - a collaboration between the City of Bunbury and the State Government - moving ahead.

We apologise for any inconvenience during works and thank our community for their understanding as we complete these important upgrades for our residents - both human and furry.
