DNC on Independence Day Arrow

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison issued the following statement marking Independence Day:

"246 years ago, the United States declared its independence and affirmed the principle that 'all men are created equal.'

"Today we celebrate those people that have fought to uphold that idea - the service members, the civil rights activists, the everyday people whose everyday civic engagement is the engine of our democracy.

"As President Biden so rightly says, the United States is an idea - that everyone has a right to be free and no American is lesser than another. The Democratic Party will never abandon that idea. We will always fight for the liberty of all American people."
