How we helped one women's shelter become more sustainable

Commonwealth Bank partnered with Sydney Solar and Batteries and AWISE to help fund the installation of solar and battery at a Sydney women's shelter.

Commonwealth Bank has partnered with Sydney Solar and Batteries, in conjunction with Australian Women in Solar Energy (AWISE), to help fund the installation of solar and battery at a Sydney women's shelter. Through the bank's proud energy partner, Amber Electric, we were able to provide access to wholesale energy prices and SmartShift with Amber. In addition to helping the shelter operate more sustainably, the installation is providing cost savings, which allow the shelter to offer more services to the community.

The donation was part of our broader commitment under CommBank Next Chapter, a program launched in 2020 which helps those in our community impacted by domestic violence and financial abuse. Watch the video to learn more about the positive impact of the installation. For privacy reasons, the name and location of the women's shelter have been withheld.
