Pak Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Masood Khan, has said that the presence of nearly 20000 doctors of Pakistani descent in the United States was not only a matter of great pride for Pakistan but was also a strong link between Pakistan and the United States. "Your success in the United States is the success of Pakistan. You make us proud," told the Ambassador to the members of one of the largest non-profit ethnic medical organizations of the United States. Addressing Annual Gala 2022 of Association of Physicians of Pakistani-Descent of North America (DMV Chapter) here in Washington on 3rd December, 2022 the Ambassador paid tribute to the services and contributions of the doctors community both for the United States as well as Pakistan. "You have been investing back in Pakistan through philanthropy, humanitarian assistance, health care, education and research." He also acknowledged the important role that the doctors' community was playing in facilitating Pakistani students getting enrolled in the prestigious institutes of the United States. Ambassador Khan said that Pakistani doctors, by virtue of their huge influence in the US society and administration, could play a significant role in perception management between the two countries and bringing their people closer to each other. He also lauded the generous support of the doctors' community at every difficult hour in Pakistan especially during calamities and natural disasters. Masood Khan also reiterated his call to Pakistani diaspore in the United States to have faith in Pakistan. "Have faith in your motherland. We will succeed. We have succeeded in the past and we will succeed in the future." Pakistan, he said, would be amongst the top ten economies of the world by 2047. Rashad Khan, the U.S. Ambassador at large for international religious freedom, speaking on the occasio? appreciated APPNA community for being at the forefront of leadership and pioneering work in their field which, he said, has earned huge respect of the American people. "When we talk about the most excellent physicians in the country and the world, Pakistani physicians, of course, come to mind on top of that list." "We are following your footsteps trying to establish ourselves in other fields as well, and we can't do it and we could not have done it without all of your support," said US ambassador while appreciating the talent of Pakistani doctors serving the United States. Rashad Hussain also said that he was a great admirer of incredible potential of Pakistan, its people, language, culture, history, traditions, poetry, natural beauty and geography of the country. Ambassador Masood Khan congratulated Mr. Asif Mohiuddin, President elect APPNA Central on his elections and expressed the hope that the organization would greatly benefit from his leadership qualities. He also appreciated the contributions of Dr. Rasheed Peracha, former President APPNA, Dr. Irfan Saeed, current of President of APPNA DMV Chapter and his predecessor Dr. Tayyeb Rana.
