MLK III Tells Stac Audience Fight for Racial Justice a 'Lifelong Struggle’

Martin Luther King III Monday told an audience of approximately 200 people at St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) in Sparkill that the fight for racial justice has been a lifelong struggle for his family.

King, the eldest son of the late Civil Rights' icons Rev, Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife Coretta Scott King, described that struggle as preserving his parents' legacy in the face of a changing political climate in America. He said, "They taught us about the transformative power of non-violent social change, the strategy which won all of the great victories for the modern Civil Rights movement."

King's appearance at STAC was made possible in part through a donation from Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R).
