TRAFFIC ALERT - New Castle County - I-95/Rt 896 Interchange--Upcoming Closures
The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that there will be overnight closure of northbound I-95 and overnight multi-lane closures on southbound I-95 for steel girder installation April 15. Additionally, around the clock ramp closures of the on ramps to southbound I-95 from SR 896 will be needed on April 15 - April 19 for crane and girder staging. Southbound I-95 High Speed EZPass lanes will be closed on April 15. Cash lanes closed April 16 - 19. Some lane closures will be in affect along the Elkton Road and SR 896 during the full closure. Overnight lane closures on both northbound and southbound I-95 will be required to support steel girder installation. Daytime lane closures on northbound I-95 will be in effect for construction access. Additionally, the right turn lane from eastbound Old Baltimore Pike to southbound SR 896 will be closed around the clock from April 17 - April 24 for road and island construction.
