The 61st Separate Red Banner Kirkenes Naval Infantry Brigade awarded the honourable title of a Guards Brigade

For wide-scale heroism and courage, resilience and bravery displayed by the brigade's personnel in combat duties to protect the Fatherland and state interests during military conflicts, the President granted the 61st Separate Red Banner Kirkenes Naval Infantry Brigade the honourable title of a Guards Brigade. From now on, the brigade shall be called the 61st Separate Guards Red Banner Kirkenes Naval Infantry Brigade.
