Rosen Helps Introduce Bipartisan Resolution Condemning ICC Prosecutor Seeking Arrest Warrant for Israeli Leaders

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) joined a bipartisan group of colleagues in introducing a resolution to reject the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor's application for arrest warrants for Israeli leaders. The application will be reviewed by the ICC's Pre-Trial Chamber, which will decide whether to issue the warrants. Neither the United States nor Israel is party to the treaty that established the International Criminal Court.

"It's outrageous that the ICC would equate Israel - a democratic nation - with Hamas - a brutal terrorist organization that carried out the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust," said Senator Rosen. "Not only does the ICC have no jurisdiction over Israel, but this decision could also hinder negotiations to bring the hostages home. That's why I'll keep working across the aisle to denounce this political move by the ICC and will continue unequivocally supporting our democratic ally Israel."

Senator Rosen has been a strong leader in the push to support Israel. Following the October 7th terrorist attack on Israel, Senator Rosen has been taking action to ensure Israel is receiving the support necessary to defend itself and defeat Hamas. Last year, Rosen announced that the United States would transfer two additional Iron Dome batteries to Israel following her bipartisan push to bolster this life-saving defense system. She also sent a bipartisan letter calling on President Biden to leverage the U.S. relationship with Qatar to secure the immediate release of the remaining hostages held in Gaza by Hamas.
