RTL Hungary enters into a strategic partnership with 4iG for the distribution of its linear TV portfolio and streaming service RTL+.

From 1 January 2025, Hungarian integrated service provider 4iG Group, together with its telecommunications subsidiaries, will exclusively distribute RTL Hungary's linear TV channels and streaming service RTL+. Additionally, in the coming years, 4iG Group's content production division will support RTL Hungary in broadcasting the UEFA Champions League matches.

Under the partnership, customers of the 4iG Group - including Vodafone Hungary and Digi - will be able to access the full range of RTL+ content on a single TV device as part of their subscriptions. This includes 192 UEFA Champions League matches with Hungarian commentary, alongside the latest and previous seasons of RTL Hungary's original series and reality shows, and Hungarian dubbed versions of international blockbuster films and series.

The two companies have also agreed on the distribution of RTL Hungary's 12-channel portfolio, including the company's four second-generation channels launched in December 2023. As a result, all 4iG Group customers will have access to channels such as RTL, RTL Kettő, RTL Három, RTL Gold, RTL Otthon, Film+, Sorozat+, Cool TV, Muzsika TV, Kölyökklub, Moziklub, and Sorozatklub, depending on their subscription package. Flagship channel RTL will also remain available on the free-to-air MindigTV service.

Gabriella Vidus, CEO of RTL Hungary, says: "This agreement has strategic importance for RTL+, and it also marks a significant milestone in the transformation of RTL Hungary, where partnerships are crucial for establishing long-term business sustainability. We are delighted that through this agreement, RTL Hungary can contribute to enriching the value proposition of the 4iG Group. This is an agreement between two leading market players, with the primary beneficiaries being our viewers."

Péter Fekete, CEO of 4iG Group, adds: "The agreement announced today marks an important milestone for the 4iG Group, as we will be the only domestic telecommunications provider able to offer its customers the entire portfolio of RTL Hungary, including linear television, streaming services and free-to-air channels, from January next year. This partnership is not only a significant step forward in the competition for viewers and subscribers, but also supports the renewal of television viewing habits in Hungary. Thanks to our ongoing developments, we will be able to elevate digital TV and streaming services in Hungary to a higher level."

In the future, under a new One brand, 4iG Group will offer additional TV subscription packages in the Hungarian market, which will include RTL Hungary's streaming service. Detailed information about these packages and access to RTL+ will be provided by 4iG with the introduction of the One brand.
